Areas with a direct connection to a body of water are located next to it or connected to it by means of temporary ditches or drains. Surface runoff can also reach the body of water indirectly via manholes and gullies in the road drainage system. This information enables more targeted measures to be planned to counteract sediment input into bodies of water.
